With a compressed transfer rate of 1.56 MB per second, the Sony SDT-7000 DDS 2 tape drive can backup up to 5.6 gigabytes in a single hour. The patented Super Head Cleaner cleans the tape head during operation, improving performance by decreasing write errors. Flash memory in this DDS 2 tape drive allows for easy firmware updates.
